The selection of bead mill needs to consider but not only the following factors:
Material of grinding barrel: Most of Manufacturers in this industry use grinding barrel SS304, if products water-based, the barrel might be rusty. Many people think ss304 material will not get rusty, but if the equipment is idle (not work) for a period of time (after use), if the water inside the barrel for a period of time, the trace of rust will appear. The reason is that the 304 steel contains a called nickel element. Highest nickel content in the steel 304 is eight, the steel is not rusty, but most manufacturers used the 304 steel mainly including four nickel, so at the time of grinding it might have rusty phenomenon. White material will appear in gray (black), titanium blue will appear dark blue (the longer the grinding time, chroma is more blue, the reason is that when friction occurring between the stainless steel barrel and pure zirconia bead, the hardness of zirconium bead is higher than stainless steel, so barrel wear more serious) . The same reason as the red color changes. So a lot of manufacturers usually choose grinding meson glass beads and ordinary zirconium oxide, the mill barrel wear is small, but there will be disadvantages, for example, if required high fineness 0.2 0.5 um um - (around 200 nm - 500 nm), if use stainless steel barrel or glass, ordinary zirconia as a meson, the fineness is difficult to be reached. The color might change when the milling time is long. Rurmi equipment mainly uses the imported wear-resistant alloy steel and zirconia beads containing with zirconium content 95%, its specific gravity is 4.0, glass bead specific gravity is 2.0 ordinary zirconia beads specific gravity is about 2.5. When the material is milled inside the barrel, it mainly refers to that the medium in the barrel hitting the material and reaching the friction to get milling effect. If the specific gravity of milling medium is bigger, the hit impact force will be bigger. Then the fineness will be easily reached, and vice versa.
Material of rotor: the process of the bead mill is mainly divided into two kinds, one is disc grinding disc (including turbine disc), the second is the pin type grinding barrels and rod pin type rotor, in the disc bead mill, barrel wall is smooth and there is no other shape, on the rotor with grinding disc, so the effect is have certain limitations. However pin type is mainly embodied in the barrel wall, there is also having pin rod on the rotor (butyl material mainly tungsten steel), the grinding process will improve a lot, mainly reflected in the strength of impact when they hit the grinding material and the motion of zirconium beads inside the mill barrel. Zirconium bead for disc type mill inside the barrel is mainly linear motion back and forth, and it take more time for grinding fineness. For pin type bead mill, the process is polygonal motion and straight-line movement, linear velocity is at 12 m/s per second (mainly refers to a speed of the zirconium bead inside the barrel moving . So the bar pin type bead mill’s grinding effect is much more obvious than disc type mill.
Separation device for materials and grinding medium (zirconium beads) : Materials and grinding media in horizontal bead mill mainly use the space separator, which is mainly composed of static ring and the rotor ring. The static ring of mechanical seal side is motionless, work piece and material contact is rotor ring. Static ring and the rotor ring of the main material is pure tungsten, the clearance between them is according to your request for materials, for example, if material fineness required 200 nm to 500 nm, then we will make clearance between 0.1 mm to 0.4 mm, the smaller the clearance, the smaller the grinding medium. Generally, the grinding medium is more than 3 times of the separation clearance, so the specific gravity of the pure zirconia beads configured by Rumi company is 4.0 with the size of grinding medium 0.6-0.8. This has a good effect on the fineness of the material grinding, which is mainly reflected in the faster fineness in the short time and the higher yield.
